Founding Partner, Leonard M. Cascone, is an accomplished trial attorney who concentrates in the areas of liability defense and has extensive experience with construction accidents, wrongful death claims, toxic torts, harassment and discrimination claims, professional liability, products liability and high-exposure motor vehicle accidents. He is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Mr. Cascone lectures on labor law, liquor liability and premises liability for the New York State Bar Association. He has also lectured at the annual convention of the Buffalo Claims Association. Mr. Cascone is a member of the New York State, Nassau County and Suffolk County Bar Associations as well as the Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Cascone also serves as Village Prosecutor for the Incorporated Village of Malverne and is a member of the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Cascone received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University in 1991 where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 average and was Valedictorian of his class. Mr. Cascone earned his Juris Doctorate degree from St. John’s School of Law in 1994.

Founding Partner, David F. Kluepfel, is the Managing Partner of the firm. He is a seasoned trial attorney who concentrates in the areas of liability defense, contractual indemnification and insurance coverage litigation, municipal liability, professional liability and commercial disputes. Mr. Kluepfel is admitted to practice law in New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Mr. Kluepfel conducts client seminars on substantive and procedural issues in the area of negligence defense and insurance law. He has served as an Education Day Speaker for the Buffalo Claims Association. He is a member of the New York State, Nassau County and Suffolk County Bar Associations as well as the Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Kluepfel is an appointed member of the Insurance and Negligence Defense Counsel Subcommittee of the Suffolk County Bar Association. He is also a member of The Defense Association of New York, Inc. and the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Kluepfel graduated from Ithaca College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Mr. Kluepfel earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1995.

Mr. Bhavnani comes to Cascone & Kluepfel with experience in many areas of personal injury defense. He regularly handles cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and construction-site accidents. 

Mr. Bhavnani received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in 1997, where he was on the Dean’s List.  In 2000, he received his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University, College of Law where he earned a CALI award for academic excellence.

Mr. Bhavnani is admitted to practice law in New York and Illinois.

Mr. Brandwein comes to the firm with over 14 years of experience in the area of insurance defense practice.  He honed his litigation and trial skills as a senior/managing counsel for both The Travelers Insurance Company and Tri-State Consumer Insurance Company.  He is an experienced trial attorney who concentrates his practice in all areas of liability defense, including automobile accidents, construction accidents, premises cases and insurance coverage litigation.   Mr. Brandwein is also highly experienced and proficient in the areas of no-fault, property damage, subrogation and UM/SUM claims. Mr. Brandwein has an impressive track record in all stages of litigation, including motions, trials, arbitrations and appellate practice.

Mr. Brandwein is admitted to practice law in New York State and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1990 with a major in legal studies and a minor in history.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1993.

Mr. Brandwein is a member of the New York State Bar Association and New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Michael C. Lancer is the Managing Attorney of our Buffalo, New York office.  He is an experienced trial attorney who concentrates his practice on liability defense, including auto, premises, products liability, construction site accidents, subrogation and other areas.  He is admitted to practice in New York and in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.

Mr. Lancer began legal practice as an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) from 1992 to 1997.  During that time, he served as a prosecutor, gaining valuable trial experience.  He also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney (SAUSA).  After leaving active duty in 1997, Mr. Lancer moved with his family to Buffalo, New York.  He remained active in the U.S. Army Reserves, leaving the service at the rank of Major in 2002.  In Buffalo, Mr. Lancer practiced as a Major Case Attorney for Travelers Insurance from 1998 until 2008.  He is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, the Western New York Trial Lawyers’ Association and the Buffalo Claims Association.

Mr. Lancer received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, graduating Cum Laude in 1987.  He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1992.

Mr. Lauri comes to the firm with a broad range of experience and has litigated and tried complex tort and commercial matters in the state and federal courts of New York.  He specializes in construction/labor law, insurance coverage, products liability, toxic torts, commercial premises, property damage/subrogation and commercial litigation.

In law school, Mr. Lauri was a Notes and Comments Editor for the St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary where he co-authored a note entitled, “Like Father Like Son?  The Constitutionality of New York’s New Son of Sam Law.”  He also served as the President of the Environmental and Energy Law Club and was the recipient of two American Jurisprudence Awards.

Mr. Lauri is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and the United States District Court, for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.  He is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations. 

Mr. Lauri earned his B.A. at Hofstra University in 1989.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s School of Law in 1994.

 

Gary Austin Manso

Mr. Manso comes to the firm with almost 30 years experience in the defense of personal injury cases.  He has litigated these cases along with related insurance coverage declaratory judgment actions from inception through trial and appeal in the state and federal courts in New York.  He specializes in construction accident litigation under New York’s Labor Law and has lectured for continuing education credit on this topic.  He has extensive experience in commercial and residential premises liability actions, trucking and automobile accident actions, municipal liability actions, declaratory judgment actions, elevator liability and products liability actions.

Mr. Manso is admitted to practice law in the state courts of New York and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.  He is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations.

Mr. Manso earned his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law in 1976, where he was on the Dean’s List every semester.  He was an associate editor on the St. John’s Law Review.

Prior to law school Mr. Manso served six years in the United States Army as an Infantry officer and helicopter gunship pilot.  He was awarded numerous decorations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, during his service in Vietnam.  He attained the rank of Captain and served as a training company commander for two years.

Mr. Pagliuca has extensive experience in the field of insurance/negligence defense.  He specializes in cases involving high exposure motor vehicle accidents, commercial and residential premises and construction accidents.  He also handles workers’ compensation matters, UM/SUM claims and no-fault litigation.

Mr. Pagliuca is admitted to practice law in the state of New York.  Mr. Pagliuca received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from St. John’s University in 1991, and his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law in 1996.

Mr. Potenza graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1996. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from St. John's University School of Law in 2004.

Ms. Rubino has substantial experience defending all types of negligence and liability claims, including premises liability, municipal liability, construction accidents, elevator accidents, medical malpractice and motor vehicle accidents. She also handles insurance coverage disputes and regularly defends and prosecutes declaratory judgment actions. Ms. Rubino has an impressive track record in all stages of litigation, including trials and appeals.

As a testament to her skill in the field of trial advocacy, Ms. Rubino has given numerous lectures and demonstrations to law students at Hofstra University School of Law for the Advanced Trail Advocacy course. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Ms. Rubino graduated from Hofstra University in 1996 with a Bachelors of Art in English and Philosophy. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1999 with honors. She is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts.

Mr. Sangalang specializes in the defense of negligence claims involving motor vehicles accidents, residential and commercial premises, and construction-site accidents. He also handles uninsured and underinsured motorist arbitrations.

Mr. Sangalang is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is also member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

Mr. Sangalang earned his undergraduate degree in 1996 with honors. In 2001, he obtained his law degree from San Beda College of Law, one of the top law schools in Manila, Philippines.

Ms. Wolf comes to Cascone & Kluepfel, LLP with diverse experience in the areas of insurance coverage disputes, insurance defense and estate proceedings. Ms. Wolf also specializes in defending multiple-party litigation with an emphasis on Labor Law claims stemming from construction accidents. Ms. Wolf is admitted to practice in New York, and the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Ms. Wolf graduated from James Madison University in 2000. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, where she was Articles Editor of Margins: Maryland's Law Journal on Race, Religion, Gender & Class. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Wolf was awarded The Public Service Award for engaging in service and legal work that significantly advanced the public interest.
